Time flies or so it seems. Before you know it, Comic Con and Celebration V will be upon us. We really wanted to attend both and now tickets are sold out for the Comic Con! That is going to be an awesome show. And then there is C5. August in Orlando. That is going to be an interesting combination. We shall see. We are still hoping to attend that.

Now about armor. The stormtrooper belt is awaiting a bit more sculpting today. I am almost finished with the whole set of armor, so it is getting exciting!!!! I cannot wait for this armor to be finished. I am thinking that it is going to be extremely accurate and hopefully people will like it. Those are my two biggest goals and really the only thing that matters!

Well it has been the LONGEST year of my life, trying sooo hard to finish up the stormtrooper armor. Who knew it would take this long! It is ridiculous almost. If I was a complete stranger and knew absolutely nothing about making armor, I would wonder what in the world could possibly take so long! However, since I am the one who is handsculpting each piece…I understand more. Although I never in a million years thought that I would still be working on it 12 months later.

So the helmet is done and it looks pretty great. I have been resculpting the butt plate this last week and then I have to fine tune the ab plate. I have been doing test pulls and I will not be happy until all the armor is absolutely 100% screen accurate and perfect. Although perfection is something we all strive for in the fan based armor arena, who knows if we really achieve it. All I can do is base success upon fan reactions. So hopefully with fingers crossed, everyone will love this set of armor as much as I hope to…when I am finished. Which will hopefully be very, very, very SOON!

So, we have been debating going to Florida for Celebration V. How can we NOT go??!! We have to go…but the costs add up big time and the lines are long and crazy.

So, who else is going and are you finding any deals on hotels? To rent a car or not? In Florida, you almost have to. We actually were thinking about renting a house. Houses are almost the same price as a hotel room, but with a full kitchen and some have pools. It would be awesome to share a house. Anybody else thinking about going and want to rent a house together?

So now onto better subjects…you should see my stormtrooper armor!  It is coming along.  I have dedicated this gorgeous Saturday to sculpting.  That is my plan and I am sticking to it.  I hope to add pictures to this blog soon, also.

And before I forget, I really wanted to introduce somebody for those of you who have not heard.  RJ started answering email for me back in January of 2009.  I still cannot believe that it is 2010 already.  I remember seeing the movie, 2001 Space Odyssey and thinking that that was a million years away and here we are already, way past that!  Ok, so I digressed, back to RJ.  She is fantastically business oriented and is of great, great help to me.  Plus she is a swimsuit model, so you cannot really deny the amazing combination there!!!  And yes, the minute that her armor is done, I will be posting pictures of her in it!!!  With or without the bikini? Hmmmm…you will all have to stay tuned for that!!!!

Well, apparently there have been some silly rumors going around on one particular forum that I am not making AT-AT Driver armor and I want to set the record straight!  

I AM STILL MAKING AT-AT DRIVER ARMOR!!!

And I never stopped.  It is good looking armor too, if I do say so myself!  Check out my flickr pictures at laws29.  Good stuff.

So we have wracked our brains as to why a rumor gets started in the first place.  Because if somebody has a question, they can always ask.  And yes, I am horrible at answering email, which is why, RJ is doing it for me.  So now I get to concentrate on what I like to do and that is to FORM ARMOR and to SCULPT ARMOR.     Especially AT-AT armor!   So, this rumor may now be put to bed.  I hope.  

I was thinking that if I was ever going to start a rumor, there would have to be motivation.  Now what motivates us?  Money? Fame?  It is typically for some kind of reward.  Or it could be just out of ignorance.  Either way, it does not really matter.  What matters is that I still make many different kinds of armor and I enjoy it.  I definitely do not do it for money or fame,  because face it…I do not really see a whole lot of either.  And that is ok!  I make armor because I love it and people seem to like my armor.

So bottom line….I still make AT-AT armor.

It is a new year and there are lots of great things to look forward to this year. Celebration V is coming in August and we cannot wait to go!!!

And something that we have been looking forward to for a loooong time is to see our Stormtrooper finished & ready for all. And I am telling you, we are soo sooo close. It looks amazing too. I am going to try to post some pics soon!
